At the B20 Summit, a business community focused event that is part of the G20 Summit, operator Telkom Indonesia and cloud computing company GoogleCloud have announced a multi-year strategic collaboration to realize Telkom’s vision of becoming a leading digital telco that empowers local businesses and communities.
By combining core competencies with Google Cloud and tapping additional capabilities across Android, Google Ads, and Grow with Google, Telkom aims to play an integral role in advancing the government’s Indonesia Digital 2024 roadmap and helping organizations to seize inclusive growth opportunities in a digital economy that is set to be worth US$130 billion by 2025.
The collaboration covers what are described as four strategic imperatives. The first imperative is accelerating digital transformation across industries. For this Google Cloud and Telkomsigma, Telkom’s ICT managed services arm, will partner to accelerate digitalization in high-priority sectors.
For the second – bridging the national digital talent gap – Telkom and Google Cloud will establish a Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE). The third imperative is empowering Indonesian start-ups to build and scale globally.
The fourth imperative is delivering intelligent infrastructure and high-quality digital services. For this the CCoE will integrate Google Cloud’s scalable, secure, and carbon-neutral cloud infrastructure, and advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) tools with Telkom’s extensive network and connectivity infrastructure to enhance the delivery of high-quality digital services to local consumers in metro and non-metro areas, as well as the enterprise market segment.
