A1 Belarus activates 2600MHz using 1,500 beCloud BTS

Mobile network operator (MNO) A1 Belarus has activated LTE-2600 services at around 1,500 base transceiver stations (BTS) operated by the country’s unified infrastructure operator Belarusian Cloud Technologies (becloud). The MNO opened the 2600MHz band to customers from 8 November 2022 noting that, with the launch of the new range, the 4G network bandwidth for A1 subscribers has tripled, and the data transfer rate has increased significantly due to the ability to use frequency aggregation, as well as the MIMO 4×4 multi-stream data transmission method at individual base stations.

A1’s press release notes that more than 400 LTE-2600 BTS are located in the capital Minsk, while the remainder are in regional and district centres serving residents of Gomel, Mozyr, Kalinkovichi, Mogilev, Bobruisk, Brest, Baranovichi, Vitebsk, Orsha, Novopolotsk, Polotsk, Grodno, Lida, Volkovysk, Borisov, Molodechno, Soligorsk, Slutsk and Pinsk.
