Fiberklaar, the joint venture between Belgian full-service operator Proximus and Sweden’s EQT Infrastructure, announced it has deployed 1,000km of fiber since kicking off its rollout 18 months ago.
The company has revealed it is now active in 60 municipalities in the Flanders region, where more than half a million inhabitants have been offered the opportunity to connect to its open access fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network. Established in December 2020, Fiberklaar plans to invest over EUR2.5 billion (USD2.4 billion) connecting at least 1.5 million homes and businesses in Flanders to fibre by the end of 2028.
