Nepal Telecom (NTC) has begun telecom service in Mahat, Bhume Rural Municipality – 6, East Rukum after its tower came into operation. As the service commenced around the festive times, the locals have been delighted as they can conveniently establish communication on their handsets without venturing to nearby villages.
The start of mobile service is the result of a long effort. The Chief Administrative Officer Chandra Singh Shrestha of Bhume Rural Municipality said that after a due approach and effort, the mobile network finally become available thanks to the government-backed operator.
Prior to this, the locals didn’t have easy access to a mobile network. They had to resort to climbing high hills, and moving to nearby villages, or even to headquarters, Rukumkot for a reliable connection.
But with Ntc switching its BTS tower on for mobile service, people are able to make calls without a hassle.
Ramsur Budha, the outgoing Chairman of Bhume Rural Municipality said that people no more need to go to neighboring villages to get a mobile network. He shared that most wards in the local body are getting a good network signal from the cell tower.
