British pure fiber provider Hyperoptic has celebrated its eleventh anniversary by announcing it has reached a subscription milestone, with it now having more than 250,000 active fixed broadband subscriptions on its books. Further, the operator suggested it is setting the pace among the UK’s altnet full fibre providers by claiming to have a market-leading penetration rate in excess of 25% overall and at 40% in areas where its network has been present for more than a year.
Meanwhile, Hyperoptic also took the opportunity to note that it is now ‘close to a third milestone of reaching one million homes passed’, saying it expects to achieve that target before the end of 2022. According to the company, its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure is now available in 64 locations across the UK.
Commenting, Hyperoptic CEO Dana Tobak said: ‘We’re not just building a fibre network, we’re connecting homes and businesses to fast, reliable broadband – reaching this 250,000 milestone with an overall penetration rate above 25% is down to the teamwork and focus of our 2,000 colleagues.’
