Uzbektelecom reached an agreement with Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE on the implementation of four investment projects worth $506.8 million to develop the telecommunications infrastructure of Uzbekistan, Podrobno.uz reported.
The Uzbek side signed eight contracts with Chinese companies as part of these projects.
The contracts will help to install 2,255 standard 3G/4G base stations, expand and upgrade 3,216 3G/4G base stations, install 388 new 5G base stations, expand the number of broadband devices to 337,408, install radio relay devices in 1,050 gaps, install 42 hybrid power plants and 292 diesel generators, and expand the bandwidth of DWDM and IP/MPLS devices.
The telecommunications projects will be implemented in Tashkent and all regional centers.
795 standard 3G/4G base stations will also be installed, 1,495 3G/4G base stations will be modernized, 325 new 5G base stations will be launched, and throughput of DWDM and IP/MPLS devices will be expanded.
