Zain Bahrain, a telecommunications industry innovator in the Kingdom, continues its Zain Youth Empowerment (ZY) Programme. The programme connects young, inspired university students and fresh graduates with several activation events to gain hands-on experience, mentoring, and the appropriate skills and knowledge to boost their future career paths and advance their career ladder.
The structured internship programme, Zain said, gives trainees a glimpse into an exciting career with Zain Bahrain and its culture. Women in Tech is another ZY Empowerment Programme that is held annually, offering young women the opportunity to enter the technology field and have access to the professional training needed to launch their careers. This year, seven female interns were trained to explore the telco industry and the different tech functions in the organisation.
Over the following months, over 52 trainees will join Zain Bahrain to work in customer care as ZY members after receiving the required training from Zain Bahrain professionals. In addition, 40 Bahraini youth are currently recruited to work in various departments at Zain Bahrain under the ZY Empowerment Program.
Members of ZY participated in many activities, such as the University College of Bahrain Career Fair, Bahrain Polytechnic Career Day, and the Good Word Society event, hosted under the patronage of H.H Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa. Mohammed Isa, Manager, Recruitment, Employee Relations & Youth Development, Human Resources, Zain Bahrain, said, "Our programme will support young Bahrainis to build a strong talent pool in many different departments to develop their future career path.
In the long run, they will be able to stay relevant in the workforce and contribute meaningfully to the Kingdom's future, aligned with Vision 2030 efforts towards making the initiatives delivered for youth success." "Youth of Today" event was held recently to recognise ZY employees and celebrate the graduation of the latest batch of the Women in Tech programme.
