Sri Lanka’s cabinet of ministers has approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to be signed with Nepal that had been delayed since June 2021, a cabinet statement said.
On June 21, 2021, the cabinet had approved a proposal by the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training, Research and Innovation to enter into an MoU between the two countries to support the development of science, technology and innovation sectors in both countries.
However, the deal was not taken forward and the MoU was never signed.
A statement from the Government Information Department on Tuesday August 16 said the cabinet has now given its approval to a renewed proposal by the Minister of Education to go ahead with the MoU. (Colombo/ Aug 16/2022)
