Full-service provider Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) is expecting to roll out fibre-based connectivity to 20,000 homes and businesses across 18 communities by October this year, local daily Demerara Waves writes, citing senior GTT official Eswhar Thakurdin.
The official claimed that the deployment was seeing record-high installation rates, with hundreds of customers being connecting each week. The executive went on to note: ‘Residents can now benefit from a plethora of new opportunities, including work from home employment as a result of us doubling our internet speeds up to 300Mbps; in support of the development of the ICT sector and a push for increased access to online job opportunities’.
