T-Mobile customers get ViX+ in deal with TelevisaUnivision

Spanish-language broadcast giant TelevisaUnivision has announced a distribution deal with T-Mobile that will give the US mobile operator’s customers access to streaming service ViX+.

T-Mobile postpaid and T-Mobile Home Internet customers (including T-Mobile for Business customers) will be entitled to a full year subscription to the streamer from mid-August. Metro by T-Mobile customers with unlimited plans are also included in the offer.

ViX+, which launched on July 21, provides access to 10,000 hours of original Spanish-language series, movies, news and live sports. This includes more than 4,000 hours of live soccer, with ViX+ providing Spanish-language coverage of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

T-Mobile said that the offer would save customers US$84 per year.

Mike Sievert, president and CEO of T-Mobile, said: “As the top wireless provider for Spanish-speaking customers in the U.S., we understand what they care about, and today we’re bringing them a whole new way to enjoy the news, TV shows, movies and live sports that matter the most, and it’s all on us. While AT&T and Verizon are actually raising prices on their longtime customers, we’re doing things the Un-carrier way and giving our customers more without the added cost.”

Wade Davis, CEO of TelevisaUnivision, said: “We are delighted that T-Mobile is bringing the massive value of ViX+ to its customers. ViX+ is launching with an unprecedented scope of Spanish-language content across premium series, movies, sports and more. ViX+ is the only service built exclusively to represent and serve the Hispanic culture and the collaboration with T-Mobile will be the first to bring this service to its customer base.”
