A subsidiary of MTS, the cloud company IT-Grad (present in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazakhstan) has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Kazakhtelecom operator, the press service of MTS reported.
The parties plan to combine cloud resources located in Kazakhstan, including communication channels, data center capacities, IT infrastructure, and sales channels for cloud solutions. After that, “IT-grad” and “Kazakhtelecom” intend to jointly provide services to other telecom operators (B2O, business to operator, market of inter-operator communication services).
MTS expects to get a new sales channel for cloud services to local companies, increase revenue in the region and increase its market share in the country, the company noted.
Kazakhtelecom has 26 data centers in the country, on the basis of which the company provides services: cloud and colocation. The company’s share of the commercial data center market in Kazakhstan is 49%, according to iKS Consulting. IT Grad currently operates three sites in the country: two in Almaty and one in Nur-Sultan.
