As part of its ongoing 5G network rollout, Filipino operator Globe Telecom deployed an additional 380 new sites in the January-March period in a bid to make the technology accessible to even more parts of the country.
New cell sites were built in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, Davao, Cebu, Misamis Oriental and Iloilo, as a result of which the company’s signal now blankets 95% of the population in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 84% in Visayas and Mindanao.
Commenting, Globe VP for Program Delivery, Marge Dizon, said: ‘These new builds augment both 5G outdoor and in-building solutions across the country. They also support the company’s strategy of providing 5G technology where it matters.’
