British pure fiber provider CityFibre has announced that it has signed a ‘major expansion’ to its strategic partnership with the ISP Giganet. In a press release regarding the development, the company said that under the terms of the new deal Giganet will make its full fibre broadband offerings offering available across CityFibre’s entire eight million home nationwide rollout. The expanded agreement builds on the initial partnership between the two companies first announced in 2020, in which the ISP committed to launching its services across 27 of CityFibre’s network locations. According to the fibre provider, with Giganet having since seen ‘significant consumer interest and take-up’, this has prompted it to extend its offering across CityFibre’s full nationwide footprint. Meanwhile, as per the deal Giganet will reportedly continue to bring its services to market in new locations throughout 2022 and it is expected that its offerings will be available to all homes across the entire CityFibre footprint within the next twelve months.

CityFibre’s network currently passes more than 1.5 million premises, of which some 1.3 million are currently able to order a full fibre broadband service with connection in as little as five working days. Looking ahead, CityFibre aims to offer connectivity across 285 cities, towns and locations by 2025, upon the completion of its GBP4 billion (USD5 billion) investment programme.
