Keeping active can be costly, particularly if you have to go to a normal gym or hire a personal instructor. However, several smartphone apps can assist you in achieving your “fitfam” objectives without emptying your pocket.
Welnes, an Egypt-based fitness app, recently secured $300,000 in a seed round led by Flat6labs and including Samurai Incubate, UI Investments, and a group of angel investors.
Welnes is a community app that connects users with professional nutritionists and instructors to enable them to achieve their weight-loss and lifestyle objectives.
The funds raised in this round will be used to grow the firm’s personnel and prepare it for GCC expansion by 2023.
Welnes was founded in 2020 by serial entrepreneurs Amr Saleh (CEO) and Amr Diab (CTO), both of whom have product experience in industries such as Fintech, IoT, and blockchain.
Welnes creates individualized nutrition and training routines for a variety of lifestyles, including Keto, Low Carb, Plant-Based, and much more.
The programs are delivered in a group format, which naturally motivates other users, dietitians, and trainers to participate.
A strong gamification approach is also included in the app, which gets users motivated and committed to completing their programs.
Welnes has aided over 15,000 people, who have collectively uploaded over 500,000 food photos and received over 5,000,000 likes.
Users adore the product, according to Amr Saleh, co-founder, and CEO of Welnes. They come for the nutrition and training regimens, and they remain for the community.
He also mentioned that the company has a strong technical team that has created a fantastic product that he can’t wait to roll out across all market segments. Welnes’ present round of investors all agree that the app’s goal statement is admirable.
