His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Abdullah Al Faisal, stc Chairman of the Board of Directors and Eng. Olayan bin Mohammed Al-Wetaid, stc Chief Executive Officer, congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud- may God protect them - and the Saudi people, on the occasion of the Founding Day.
Prince Al Faisal indicated that the Foundation Day reflects the historical and civilizational depth of this great country and underline the diverse cultural heritage and loyalty to Imams, Kings and citizens who served this country. The purpose of this occasion is to establish the sense of belonging and loyalty to our dear country and visionary leadership and highlight bright pages in the Kingdom’s history spanning over three centuries which were a source of pride to all the Saudis across generations. It is also intended to enhance the Kingdom’s position at the local, regional and global levels as it has been serving the Two Holy Mosques and pilgrims as a top priority passed through monarchs of the Kingdom until this great era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them-; an era of construction, mega projects and major transformations towards the bright future under the KSA Vision 2030 which had been insightfully launched by HRH the Crown Prince under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
"The progress and huge leaps made by the Kingdom in various fields is the outcome of three centuries of sacrifices and achievements,” said Al Faisal. “We, as Saudi citizens, will continue our journey of building, giving and gratitude for the Saudi nation", added Al Faisal
He extended thanks to the great leadership for the great attention to communications and information technology sector. This sector has received a great attention from the very beginning until now. This has helped the sector to develop, grow and have a superior infrastructure in a record time, reaching advanced positions according to the major global indicators.
Eng. Olayan bin Mohammad Alwetaid, CEO of stc Group, expressed his felicitations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - and to the great Saudi people on the occasion of the Founding Day, stressing the development progress in all fields in general and in the ICT sector in particular, since the foundation of the Kingdom. This was reflected in the Kingdom’s progress in international indicators, as it had moved up 40 notches in the Telecommunication Infrastructure Index. According to Alwetaid, stc has maintained its leadership to become a regional hub for digital services and managed to attract the largest technology investments in the Middle East. This included the MENA Hub initiative for the Middle East and North Africa region, the establishment of a company specialized in hosting services in data centers and regional and international connectivity, and the building of a Huawei factory to localize data center equipment.
stc is moving forward with its strategy of digital empowerment through leadership in cloud services, establishment of the largest data center in the Middle East, and cybersecurity and digital payment services. In addition, it provides the latest 5G technologies to cover 75 cities with more than 6000 5G towers across the Kingdom. It continues to support local content through Rawafed Program and to complete the incubation of emerging projects in the technological fields, which amounted to 75 projects and many different communication services, Alwetaid added.

Commemorating the Founding Day, stc has signed with the Saudi Tourism Authority to support the Founding Day activities, which will be held at Wadi Namar, Riyadh from 22nd to 24th February 2022, which includes five major events (founding march, majlis, najnaj, flag operetta, and founding sky), in addition to 18 events in 14 cities around the Kingdom, under the slogan of "Youm Badina" which means in Arabic the day we started, to commemorate the founding of the first Saudi state by late Imam Mohammed bin Saud.
