Verizon Communications has reportedly launched a symmetrical 2Gbps fibre broadband connection in New York City this week.
A monthly subscription is priced at USD119.99. A Verizon spokesperson told Telecompetitor that the company is using NG-PON2 technology to deliver the new service. Going forward, Verizon plans to extend multi-gigabit connectivity to additional markets later this year.
