Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Asoomi, has lauded His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision on the need to be interested in the fields of science, knowledge and technological advances.
He extended congratulations to the kingdom on the successful launch of the first Bahraini satellite, “Light 1”, making the space sciences sector one of the promising sectors in the kingdom.
While chairing the second meeting of the second session of eh third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, held today at the premises of the Jordanian House of Parliament, Speaker Al-Asoomi affirmed that the milestone will inaugurate a new phase of achievements witnessed by Bahrain to cope with the latest developments in the fields of scientific research, communications and information.
While addressing the Arab Parliament’s meeting. Al-Asoomi added that the landmark achievement is in line with HM the King’s vision on the importance of taking advantage of science to serve society, noting that the satellite launch is among the initiatives aimed at enhancing the kingdom’s status regionally and internationally, as well as showcasing Bahrain’s youth’s ambitions and potentials in the fields of innovation, science and knowledge.
