Orange Slovakia has launched live trials of 4G services using the 700MHz band, licences for which were awarded last year to support 5G technology.
A report from Zive.sk says that Orange will use 700MHz spectrum for 4G while it is running 5G in Non-Standalone (NSA) mode as current handsets will only support the band for 4G or for 5G Standalone (SA), which will not be available for some time. O2 Slovakia is also planning to use 700MHz spectrum for 4G access.
