Vianet selects CCS to extend fiber network in Nepal

Vianet, one of the leading ISPs in Nepal has announced its partnership with China Communication Service (CCS) Nepal for its network expansion in Western Nepal. China Communications Services (CCS) parent company China Telecommunications Corporation (CHINAICTC) has great experience in network design, development, and execution of optical fiber all around the world.

The agreement (MoU) between Vianet and CCS Nepal enables rapid expansion of high-speed fiber networks in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim (5,6,7) provinces. Further, this creates a huge opportunity for the ISP to provide high-speed internet service to its customers and enrich people’s lives with a better digital experience.

Sewa Pathak Bohra, CEO of Vianet Communications said “By partnering with CCS, we are working with an experienced international team to build our state-of-the-art high-speed fiber network all over Western Nepal. This is part of our ongoing commitment to providing world-class internet and digital services to our customers in Western Nepal.” Furthermore, Vianet has also successfully completed providing broadband internet to the remote districts of Doti, Darchula, Dadeldhura, and Baitadi, as part of the Rural Telecom Development Subsidy project.

A subsidiary of China Telecommunications Corporation, CCS has a strong presence in Nepal for telecommunication infrastructure development. CCS has also been working with all telecom operators of Nepal (Ntc, Ncell, and Smart Telecom). Furthermore, the company provides outsourcing services to telecom operators, government entities in 30+ countries.

Similarly, Vianet Communications Pvt. Ltd is one of the leading Internet and TV service providers in Nepal. The company was established in 1999 and has been providing reliable, affordable broadband internet services across the country. In 2011, the company had introduced Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service for world-class internet, back in 2011. Now, the ISP provides several fiber internet packages up to 100 Mbps. Likewise, it also has a TV service in the name of ViaTV, its own IPTV platform.
