Globe pushes 5G IBS rollout

Globe Telecom is fast-tracking the deployment of 5G-capable in-building solutions (IBS) for indoor coverage in locations such as airports, shopping malls and stadiums. Local press note that the company has already deployed 5G IBS equipment at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 1, 3 and 4, as well as the Newport Mall, Riverbank Mall, SM Mall of Asia Annex, office-retail W City Center, Philippine Arena, and New Clark City Athletic Stadium. Furthermore, as part of the rollout of 73 IBS since the start of the year, it has also switched on 5G IBS within government buildings, The Globe Tower, and 917Ventures office.

With the company now reporting more than 1,900 5G sites across the Philippines and 95% coverage in the National Capital Region (NCR), Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, Joel Agustin said: ‘Our network rollouts and upgrades remain on track.’
