Première and Videofutur launch new French VOD platform

Première magazine and Netgem’s Videofutur have announced the launch of a VOD platform dedicated to cinema.

Known as Premiere Max by Videofutur, it will make its debut at the end of October and offer movie lovers the latest American blockbusters, best of the French box office, and also a very large selection of author films and all the great classics of French and international cinema. All told, it will have over 15,000 titles to rent or buy.

Premiere Max by Videofutur will be accessible on PCs, smartphones and tablets and without the need for an operator’s TV box. There will be no commitment, with the service available on a pay-as-you-go basis and integrated into iOS and Android mobile apps.

Commenting on the new platform, Reginald de Guillebon, president of Première Média, said: “In a context of the strong evolution of the streaming market, Première is delighted to present a rich VOD offer to its large community. The editorial know-how of Première, associated with that of Videofutur, will guarantee a permanent work of programming, animation and promotion of content with the aim of offering a dynamic, original and topical selection of films. In addition, Première strengthens its unwavering link with operations, and contributes to the development of the ecosystem and to the defence of the cinema model”.

Mathias Hautefort, president of Videofutur, added: “We are delighted with the partnership with Première, a historical media in the cinema. The launch of this new VOD service once again demonstrates the know-how of the Videofutur teams in publishing and operating VOD service platforms, a rapidly growing OTT market”.
