Minister of Health visits Digital Operations Control Center in stc and appreciates its role during the pandemic

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, has visited the Digital Operations Control Center of the stc Group, and met the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the stc Group, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, and the CEO of the group, Eng. Olayan bin Muhammad Al-Wetaid, in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministry and the stc group.

His Excellency was briefed on the capabilities provided by the Digital Operations Control Center (DOCC), and its role in serving all government and private sectors in the field of digital transformation. He also watched a visual presentation on the advanced digital processes provided by (DOCC) in the fields of simulation, digital structure management, crisis management, and innovation, which all enhances the status of the Kingdom as a leading regional business hub.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said: “I was very pleased to visit the Digital Operations Control Center of stc Group, which is run by distinguished Saudi young men and women. This Center has played a great role during the Pandemic times, and hereby I wish to thank the stc group, headed by the Board Chairman Prince Muhammed Bin Khalid Abdullah Al-Faisal and the wonderful team in the group.”

This visit comes within the framework of the existing partnership between the Ministry of Health and stc, which resulted in continuous cooperation that was manifested in several digital projects which contributed to the provision of health digital services, reflecting in the quality of health life and the digital and technical transformation in the health sector - in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision in this vital field.

The digital operations control center is the largest integrated operation center of its kind in the region, with an area of ​​42,000 square meters, and a capacity of about 2,300 employees, the Center operates the largest international gates in the Middle East and North Africa, with a capacity of 8.4 Tera per second. Moreover, it is connected to more than 4 marine cables, and it includes the latest protection and distribution systems in the world, to secure the company’s services system in general, along with a structure of circuits and solutions for transmitting data services and voice circuits for all customers, in addition to a number of global content localization systems to make stc network one of the world’s most mobile networks, especially regarding the social media.
