The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has released the second batch of information technology service standards under the accreditation programme for information technology service providers.
"MTCIT would like to announce the second phase of the accreditation programme to allow the providers of these services to prepare for it. This phase includes standards in the following areas:
1. Managed Security Services
2. Professional Security Services," the Ministry said in a statement.
The accreditation for these services will start in the first quarter of 2022. The service providers can find the published accreditation standards and the application process for the programme on the Ministry’s official website: .

MTCIT launched the IT Accreditation programme at the end of 2019 to accredit IT service providers eligible to serve government administrative units. IT service providers are accredited based on national standards prescribed by MTCIT in line with the international best practices, the Ministry said.
The IT services covered in the program include IT Consultation, Solution development and implementation, Information and cyber security, and Hosting services. The first phase covered a batch of two services: Security Assessment services and Cloud and Hosting services.
