Media Group Ukraine (MGU) has reached an agreement with the new US OTT platform Boss TV, which targets ethnic communities around the world.
As a result, Boss TV viewers can now subscribe to an a la carte offer that includes the MGU proprietary channels Ukraine 24, Ukraine 1/Ukraine 2 and NLO TV, as well as the traditional partner channels Star Cinema, Star Family, X-Sport and Fishing TV.
Commenting on the development, Oleksandr Remezovskyi, director of the pay channel distribution department, MGU, said: “We are strengthening the position of international distribution – we are launching Ukrainian packages one after another. This is the third provider with which we have signed such an agreement. Each of them has a high technical level. The partnership with Boss TV will reach the audience of Ukrainians in North and South America who consume content through gadgets such as tablets and smartphones, as well as via the internet”.
Jose Paternostro, director of global business development, Boss TV, added: “The Boss TV digital platform allows consumers to broadcast live and on-demand content, and offers a variety of marketing, data, and analytics tools that enable companies to make a profit and improve their interactions with their own audiences. With the help of our platform, MGU will have access to information about subscribers in real time, which will allow them to better understand the audience and manage their own business opportunities and content”.
MGU notes that its international channel Ukraine 24 can be received by 30 million households in over 15 countries. Furthermore, Ukrainian channel packages are already available in Portugal and Canada.
Boss TV is a new OTT platform being developed in the US and is expanding into Latin America and other regions, providing end to end live linear TV, premium network content, gaming, esports, and online betting content to mobile, tablet and PC subscribers. It offers an end-to-end, IP-HDTV solution, with personalisation capabilities and linkages into social media, targeted advertising, real-time one-click buying, and gaming.
