Since the beginning of the year, Telekom Deutschland has rolled out a total of 430,000 new fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) connections and laid more than 30,000km of fiber.
The firm is investing over EUR2 billion (USD2.4 billion) a year in its fibre rollout, with a view to reaching ten million connections by the end of 2024.
With regards to its mobile network, Telekom’s 5G network now covers 85% of Germans via a network of 55,000 antennas, with population coverage set to exceed 90% by the end of this year.
5G in the 3.7GHz frequency band is now available in more than 60 cities via over 2,400 antennas at a total of around 800 locations, while 5G standalone (SA) networks are being tested in four cities.
