Intertelecom to shutter CDMA across Ukraine in November

Ukrainian operator Intertelecom has announced the next phase of its gradual shutdown of CDMA-based wireless services.

From 1st November 2021, Intertelecom will no longer offer CDMA mobile internet access or fixed broadband access in a further 13 regions of Ukraine: Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Kiev city, Kiev oblast, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Vinnitsia and Zhytomyr.

TeleGeography reports that Intertelecom shuttered its CDMA voice services in these regions on 1st July this year. Once the November shutdown is complete, Odessa will be the only region to have access to Intertelecom’s CDMA-based voice and data services, with other regions able to access a VoIP-based SIP service.
