Polsat unveils new online and multiscreen offerings in line with rebrand

Polish pay TV provider Polsat Plus Group has unveiled two new online and multiscreen TV offerings including one that will replace its existing Ipla and Cyfrowy Polsat Go services.

The major new online and multiscreen service, Polsat Box Go, offers over 100 TV channels, sports movies series, entertainment and news content available on multiple devices. The service will provide a paid-for offering without advertising.

Existing Cyfrowy Polsat Go and Ipla subscribers will be able to use the new service and app with the same login and password on different devices.

In addition, the operator will offer Polsat Go, a new service that offers the best of Telewizja Polsat content free of charge with advertising.

Polsat Box Go will be launched in September and will come with a new design and content recommendation system, user profiles and offline access to content. It will als be available on Chromecast and AirPlay for both VOD and linear channels. The service will be available on Android, Huawei Mobile Services and iOS devices, smart TV s and set-top boxes.

Polsat Go will launch in August and will be available on PCs, smartphones, tablets and TV sets.

“Our customers and viewers want to have their content and access it ‘here and now’; they want to have a full selection of content, and use it where, when and on what device they want. Polsat Box Go and Polsat Go are two great applications and services, with a very wide range of content to watch, new functions, a very simple, friendly look and convenient to use. ‘Go’ in the name means that you can watch your favourite content whenever and wherever you want, because it is available online for you,” said Maciej Stec, VP of the management board of Cyfrowy Polsat and Polkomtel, operator of the Plus network, Polsat Plus Group.

The launch of the new services comes after Polsat Plus Group announced at the end of July that it was rebranding its services, with the Cyfrowy Polsat service changing its name to Polsat Box, de-emphasising its satellite legacy in favour of a brand that is intended to convey its availability anywhere at any time, including online, according to Stec.
