The Czech national broadcaster Prima has launched a new on demand platform.
Named Prima Pauza and produced in cooperation with Seznam.cz, it offers short length videos and is aimed at young and busy users who do not have time to watch entire shows, as well as Prima viewers who are interested in bonus content.
Commenting on the platform, Filip Vazansky, non-linear content manager of the Prima group, said: “Prima Pauza is aimed at young audiences who are used to entertainment and short videos thanks to social networks, so we decided to create a tailor-made new platform for them, based on concise content that can be watched in any short break. In addition to entertainment and popular series for Prima Pause, we create our own content and bonus videos for new programmes of the Prima group”.
Igor Kalas, business development director of Seznam.cz, added: “We have decided to deepen the existing cooperation of Seznam with the Prima Group and synergistically join our forces. Prima provides us with its own video content, which we help to reach the next target group and online viewers. The result is greater visibility of Prima programmes and joint monetisation of existing television content”.
Prima says it has long been one of the leaders of online video content in the Czech Republic. Of the total time of 72.15 billion seconds of video content on the Czech internet, the Prima Group holds a 44% share, or 31.72 billion seconds, with the iPrima.cz website.
In June, iPrima.cz, with 4,951,524 real users, ranked among the top five websites on the Czech internet.
