solutions by stc first in Kuwait to provide General Motors with in-vehicle connectivity to support OnStar service

solutions by stc, the specialized business arm of Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, announced that it has partnered with General Motors (GM) to provide an in-vehicle connectivity solution to support GM’s OnStar service. solutions by stc is the first business solutions provider to provide the IOT application over vehicle management, and infotainment subscription services in Kuwait. The partnership with GM now extends solutions by stc’s experience and offerings capabilities within the automotive industry through various advanced applications that enable digitization across smart transport and in-vehicle solutions.

The new collaboration between solutions by stc and GM was announced during a virtual conference held on July 4th. Representatives from GM, the Ministry of Interior, Alghanim Automotive, Mohammad Saleh & Reza Yousuf Behbehani Company, as well as solutions by stc were present. The conference highlighted the key features behind OnStar, GM’s groundbreaking in-vehicle technology. The only service that supports drivers before, during, and after a car collision.

OnStar is the regional leader when it comes to in-vehicle safety and security, forging the way for Connected Cars across various innovative features and services. Supported by stc’s high internet speeds and advanced network, OnStar will provide drivers with automatic crash response, stolen vehicle assist, emergency services, on-demand diagnostics, roadside support, and internet subscriptions. The new in-vehicle service will be available on GM brands including Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac, across most 2021 models which will be equipped with a stc eSIM to power OnStar.
