H&C+ extends North American reach with Comcast

Equestrian sports network Horse & Country has secured the launch of its live and on demand subscription service, H&C+, on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex platforms in North America.

The agreement means that in the coming months, subscribers will be able to view live coverage of events including the CHIO Rotterdam from the Netherlands, the Masters of Chantilly from France including the Rolex Grand Prix and the USEF Junior Hunter National Championships, as well as the Mars Great Meadow International and the ArenaMend Classic 5* from the US later in the year.

H&C+ includes over 200 days of live streaming per year, a 24/7 linear channel and over 7,500 hours of programming available on demand. The service retails at US$9.99 per month or US$99.99 per year.

The Xfinity app has been launched through Comcast-owned app store specialist Metrological, and was developed using the Lightning Software Development Kit .

The app is available for global operators through the Metrological Application Platform. The 24/7 linear stream included in the app is supported by technology provider Amagi.

Horse & Country said that the launch of H&C+ on Xfinity X1 and Flex represented a key stage in the network’s development in the American market and substantially expands the audience reach for the Company’s US partners, including US Equestrian, the United States Hunter Jumper Association, and the United States Dressage Federation, among others.

H&C CEO, Heather Killen, said: “Xfinity X1 and Flex are among the most innovative and forward-thinking entertainment platforms in the US. We are delighted to bring H&C+, our premium subscription service, offering live, linear and on demand equestrian content to millions of Xfinity customers.”
