Mexican ISP Megacable has revealed that its GPON migration project is 50% complete, noting that it is on course to conclude the upgrade by end-2021.
The update was provided to Expansion by CEO Enrique Yamuni, who indicated that the cableco is on course to invest USD400 million in network deployments in 2021. Mr Yamuni commented: ‘Our priority is GPON. Last year we invested nearly USD400 million in building network infrastructure and technology to upgrade the fibre-optic network and migrate residential users.’
