Bell MTS expands Wireless Home Internet to rural Manitoban communities

Bell MTS – part of Bell Canada – has launched its Wireless Home Internet (WHI) service in Manitoba, bringing enhanced broadband access to eligible homes in twelve communities, with approximately 40,000 rural and remote premises planned for coverage by the end of 2021, as part of Bell’s broader plan to eventually offer WHI to a million rural households across Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. WHI is based on 5G-capable technology delivered over Bell’s wireless network using 3500MHz spectrum, enabling access speeds of up to 50Mbps/10Mbps download/upload with tariffs featuring no monthly overage fees.

Additionally, Bell MTS is expanding its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, currently deploying in Churchill, Flin Flon, Morden and La Salle, joining more than 30 smaller communities in Manitoba covered by the telco’s FTTH service.
