Ukrainian and Russian streaming service Megogo has added discovery+ to its line-up of offerings for subscribers in Latvia.
Starting this month, all Megogo subscribers in Latvia have access to discovery+. The move follows a strategic partnership concluded between Discovery and the OTT service in December, covering 13 markets in eastern Europe and Asia.
discovery+ will offer content both from its global franchises and originals. Viewers will also be able to see shows from the brand’s Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, ID, Discovery Science, Food Network, Travel Channel and Eurosport.
Megogo subscribers will have access to VOD as well as sports content on Eurosport 1 HD and Eurosport 2 HD. VOD titles available to Latvian viewers include Gold Rush, Wheeler Dealers, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Murder and Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein.
For the first time Megogo users will see premium Discovery documentary content in 4K.
The cost of service on Megogo will be €1.99.
Ekaterina Mihajlovic, distribution and Business Development Director Discovery North Eastern Europe & Turkey, said: “It’s a great moment for us to announce that our partnership with Megogo expands to Latvia and that now, besides the 13 markets we have launched discovery+ on our partner’s platform earlier this year, we will also bring our great content library for Megogo users in Latvia. It’s been a great year so far, with 5 discovery+ launches in 6 months in our region, and it’s great to see that more and more viewers have access now to our premium documentaries, entertainment, reality-shows and sports.”
Andzejs Pjateckis, CEO Megogo Baltics, said: “Discovery + is a huge world of incredible content. We are pleased to announce that discovery + has become available for Megogo subscribers in Latvia as well. Now our viewers have even more high-quality, exciting and informative content. The wide functionality of Megogo and the ability to consume content from multiple devices will make watching your favourite shows even more comfortable.”
