Nar expands network in Hadrut and Jabrayil

Azerfon (Nar), Azerbaijan’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has deployed 2G, 3G and 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) in Hadrut settlement and the city of Jabrayil, as part of its plan to provide the areas of Nagorno-Karabakh.

In order to provide its subscribers with quality mobile broadband services, Nar announced it installed more than 50 new BTS nationwide in Q1 2021, taking the total number of 3G and 4G sites it operates to over 5,670.

The company also revealed that 82% of data traffic is currently transmitted via its LTE-A network, following a 22% year-on-year increase in the first quarter of this year. Azerfon claims its mobile broadband networks now cover 99.9% of the population and 89% of the territory.
