Monopoly broadband provider Monaco Telecom (MT) has officially launched commercial fibre broadband services following the completion of network testing. Having announced in March the completion of a three-year programme to deploy fibre-optic cabling throughout the Principality, MT claims 74% of households can now access fibre packages supporting maximum download speeds of 10Gbps. The company hopes its ongoing inbuilding cable deployment programme will extend the network’s footprint to all homes by 2022.
MT is marketing four subscription plans, ranging from the ‘Basic’ package costing EUR39.99 a month for a 100Mbps/10Mbps downlink/uplink to the ‘Premium’ plan providing a 10Gbps/10Mbps connection for EUR99.99. All subscription plans include a range of Monaco TV and free call packages, while discounted rates are available for Monegasque nationals and children.
