Vodafone UK and CityFibre have announced the expansion of their partnership to include Vodafone Ethernet Services for business customers. With Vodafone UK currently using CityFibre’s fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure to help deliver its full fibre broadband offerings, the pair noted that under the updated partnership Vodafone will use the latter’s Ethernet infrastructure ‘to offer more local access options than ever before’. In a press release, Vodafone UK said it will introduce an alternative and cost-effective High Bandwidth Ethernet service in twelve UK towns and cities, with services available initially in three locations, those being: Cambridge, Coventry and Peterborough. Looking ahead, Vodafone’s Ethernet service for business will be extended to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Huddersfield, Leeds, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Portsmouth and Southend-on-Sea ‘over the next few months’.
Commenting, Vishal Dixit, Strategy and Wholesale Director, Vodafone UK said: ‘We already have an extremely successful partnership with CityFibre, so we’re delighted to be able to extend this to include Ethernet Services. It’s never been more important to ensure our business customers have as much choice as possible, as well as the high speed and high-quality data service they need to run their business successfully.’
