Nepal Telecom (NTC) has begun FTTH in the Okhaldhunga district for the first time. After the launch of NTC’s FTTH service, local subscribers will have access to reliable and high-speed internet along with voice call service over optical fiber.
The telco has successfully operated FTTH’s trial in selected areas of Ramailodada, around the headquarters.
“After COVID-19 prohibitions ease off, NTC will begin the FTTH rollout around the headquarters region”, said Santosh Neupane, NTC Okhaldhunga branch officer.
FTTH stands for Fiber To The Home which runs on fiber optics medium. Due to the use of optics, the connection is capable of higher bandwidth with low latency which meets the demands of today’s age of the internet.
