Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications operator in the Kingdom, has become the first network operator to provide enhanced mobile and broadband network connectivity in the newly developed areas of East Hidd, Hidd block 111, and Lawzi, the company said.
These areas are primarily where new housing projects are being developed by the Ministry of Housing and private developers.
“In line with the government’s direction in facilitating the telecom services in those areas, Zain Bahrain took a progressive approach and worked tirelessly through last year to roll out 4G and 5G broadband networks to these specific areas where residents will enjoy enhanced data speed and greater network connectivity opportunities to meet the increasing customer demand,” Zain Bahrain said.
The network enhancement highlights Zain Bahrain’s capability and continuous commitment to empowering Zain Bahrain customers with solutions and services that enhance people's digital lives, it said.
With the enhanced network, residents in the newly developed areas will enjoy faster data speeds and greater opportunities for connectivity. Zain Bahrain has also worked to provide the residents with 5G broadband technologies thereby improving their streaming, gaming and applications that require high bandwidth and better latency.
Ali Al-Yaham, Director Technology at Zain Bahrain, said: “During these unprecedented Covid-19 times we understand our responsibility as a telecommunications operator and a digital enabler is much bigger than normal times. We sought to ensure that connectivity for the residents remotely working or attending online classes or providing education do not get hampered during these tough times.”
