Online channels curator Alchimie is expanding into the US by acquiring the publishing assets of LA-based streaming operation TV4Entertainment.
The deal will see Alchimie pick up nine thematic SVOD channels, including Motorland, which offers shows such as travelogue Long Way Down. Other offerings include factual-focused DocCom TV, boating offering Nautical Mile, hunting/fishing network Gone TV and property streamer Inside Outside.
Together, the SVOD channels have 15,000 subscribers and sales of almost $1m, Alchemie said, and is part of the company;s strategy to expand its global activity via acquisitions. Financial details have not been revealed.

TV4Entertainment specialises in OTT streaming channels and operates around 30 genre-focused brands, while Alchimie stocks its OTT offerings with shows from a catalogue of more than 60,000 hours of content from more than 300 partners such as France TV distribution and ZDF Entreprises. In 2019, Alchimie acquired UK-based OTT platform TVPlayer.
