Royalty rates for telecom services fixed in Oman

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has issued a ministerial decision No. 19/2021 determining the annual royalty rates prescribed for the licensee to provide telecommunications services.

The decision is broken down into three articles or parts, described below:

Article 1: The annual royalty rate that the licensee is obligated to pay to the government of the Sultanate is as follows:

- 12 per cent of the total annual revenues for the first class licenses to provide public mobile telecommunications services.

-7 per cent of the total annual revenue of the licensee to provide fixed telecommunications services until the year 2021 revenue and 10 per cent of the total annual revenue of the licensee to provide fixed telecommunications services, starting from the year 2022 revenue

- 7 per cent of the total annual revenues of the licensee to provide other telecommunications services.

Article 2 : Royalty is collected in accordance with the rules and procedures specified by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

Article 3 : All those who contradict this decision or contravene its provisions shall face cancellation of license.
