The OTT platform operated by Russia’s NTV-Plus ended 2020 with over 640,000 subscribers.
This, according to NTV-Plus’s parent company Gazprom-Media, was 324% more than a year earlier.
Furthermore, at the end of 2020 the share of its paying audience was 89%. The OTT service, known as NTV-Plus.TV, was also received by around 7% of subscribers to NTV-Plus satellite TV service.
Gazprom-Media notes that the continued relatively small share of such users is due to the rapid growth in the number of paid subscriptions.
The number of SVOD views in 2020 was 519% higher than in the previous year and 85% of subscribers renewed their subscription for the next period.
Meanwhile, the number of subscribers using the PPV model fell by 2019 due to significantly lower number of sports broadcasts due to the pandemic.
NTV-Plus.TV expanded its offer considerably and also introduced a new Android OTT set-top box. It also became possible to view the service in CIS countries.
NTV-Plus.TV currently includes over 220 TV channels, eight thematic packages, an international package and on demand services such as Premier, Amedia Home of HBO and Megogo in its offer.
