Etisalat is showcasing at GITEX Technology Week 2020 advanced solutions and services to support education and industries amid challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic has led to many significant changes in education thus disrupting traditional learning methods and now distance learning has become the norm. COVID-19 has required all industries to rethink their business models and accelerated their digital transformation.
Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, Senior Vice President, Government Sales, Etisalat, said: “During this unprecedented period that has challenged both health and the economy, Etisalat has taken many steps to ensure that its network, services and teams are well equipped to support its customers. At this year’s GITEX, Etisalat is demonstrating a wide range of advanced solutions for enhanced distance learning and remote working in line with its strategy of 'Driving the digital future to empower societies'.”
A demo-tutoring platform, shown on an LCD screen, which also works with tablets, helps teachers and tutors interact with students. This solution has real-time annotations, enhance interactions, shares resources and has an AI tool for search-based learning. The National Tutoring Platform is a tool for scheduling tutoring sessions with features such as a live session notebook and personalised revision library.
GITEX attendees can also check out the AI-based access control and students’ attendance system. Face readers have been set up at the booth linked to the attendance server as well as to an existing camera to detect the faces of active and non-active students.
An AI-powered solution measures and tracks students’ attention, focus and mental performance. This is the perfect solution to detect if children are focusing or not and understand disabilities.
At Etisalat’s stand this GITEX, the Connected Jobsite solution consists of an ecosystem of devices, ranging from head mounted device to wearables and applications. The objective is to digitise time and attendance, improve site safety, and to measure productivity and cost matrices. This is especially relevant during post-COVID-19.
As for predictive maintenance and remote operations, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality-powered solutions are offering the capability to reduce downtime periods in the factory and avoid impacts of technicians on field operations.
