Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) and the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) have signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement to test the use of private 5G technology networks. The aim of the agreement is to develop pilot projects for trials and validation of frequency bands, required bandwidths, transmission rate requirements and other key indicators for application of IMT technology such as 5G, for example, in selected environments.
The final product will be a set of studies indicating technical references to support the regulatory discussion process with information on the most appropriate frequency bands and required bandwidths for various applications on private networks.
