5GDNA and CMVU ink MoU

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony assembled by the 5G Deterministic Networking Alliance (5GDNA) and Machine Vision Industry Union of ZGC (CMVU) took place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center during HUAWEI CONNECT 2020. The MoU defines the framework for the two parties to share resources, and complement each other, building a sustainable and mutually beneficial ecosystem. The MoU solidifies their plan for comprehensive collaboration in 5G+machine vision, which will allow them to leap into the forefront of standards, technologies, applications, and services.

We are all in agreement, 5G is capable of providing differentiated network capabilities to ensure deterministic experience, paving the way for digitalization in all economic sectors. Not to mention machine vision, which is one of the leading and most prominent technologies within AI, to be widely applied in industries, such as manufacturing, electronics, automobile, medicine, and logistics. Together, these two technologies will without a doubt lead to positive outcomes, such as simplified O&M, sophisticated products, improved efficiency, and maximized ROI.

The 5GDNA and CMVU will make full use of their advantages, share resources and experience, replicate and promote best practices, and work together with industries, universities, and research institutes to boost 5G development in the machine vision and industrial Internet industries.

President of 5GDNA, and President of Huawei Cloud Core Network Strategy Business Development Dept, Dai Jisheng, and President of CMVU, Pan Jin attended and delivered speeches at the signing ceremony. Also in attendance, were Yu Xiaojuan, Secretary-General of the CMVU, and Dr. Huang Weilan, Deputy Leader of the Industrial Internet Team of 5GDNA and Senior Director of 5G Industry Development Strategy of Huawei Cloud Core Network.

In 2019, the 5GDNA was founded together with China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Huawei, and other industry partners from fields such as manufacturing, energy, multimedia, medical, and automotive. 5GDNA is committed to promoting 5G deterministic networking, building a mutually beneficial ecosystem, speeding up 5G application in industries, and fueling 5G development. As of now, there are more than 100 members in the 5GDNA.

As for the other partner, the CMVU consists of manufacturers, system integrators, agents, consulting institutions, and end users from the machine vision industry and other industries related to image processing. The CMVU is one of the five major machine vision industry organizations in the world, and is the only member representing China in the G3 organization. Up to now, there are more than 260 members in the CMVU.
