The private sector is also joining hands to further strengthen the national program to bring the benefits of digital technology to the people. This was confirmed by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka and the Kaymu Lanka (Private) Limited (daraz.lk) on the 15th of Sepetember 2020.
Under the guidance of the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), Kaymu Lanka (Private) Limited (Daraz) will work with island-wide Smart Social Circles, Suhuruliya and the existing Nenasala network to provide the knowledge and training required to enable small and medium scale entrepreneurs to operate their businesses using the Internet.
Daraz.lk is an extensive online merchandising business and it is hoped that this initiative will enable SMEs to extend their local market presence while also work on entering overseas markets by promoting new business opportunities.
