Nkom puts Sogn DAB permit auction rules out to consultation

Norwegian communications regulator Nkom has announced a consultation over the rules for the auction for a frequency permit for DAB local radio in region 21, namely for Sogn. The deadline for comments is 25 September and the auction is due to start in the week beginning 12 October or 19 October. The minimum price has been set at NOK 25,000 and the annual fee for the region 21 permit is estimated at NOK 24,600 for 2020.

DAB local radio region 21 covers Luster, Balestrand, Leikanger, Ardal, Sogndal, Laerdal, Vik, Hoyanger, Aurland, Hyllestad, Solund and Gulen, although some of those boroughs were merged in the municipal and county administration overhaul that took place in Norway on 01 January 2020.

The spectrum permit for region 21 covers channel 12C for the frequency range 226.592 MHz to 228.128 MHz. The permit is valid until 31 December 2031.
