Orange Jordan announced that the final phase of the selection process of the second batch of Orange Coding Academy will kick off on July 6th. 300 candidates out of 7,000 applicants will set for interviews that will qualify only 50 students to join the academy.
After achieving remarkable results during the e-training, the shortlisted candidates will take part in a series of final interviews to be conducted by experts from Orange Jordan and its partner Simplon.co.
In a press release issued by Orange Jordan, the company said that it responded swiftly to the governmental procedures imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19 by shifting to digital modes, noting that it relied on virtual meetings since the opening of the applications to maintain the continuity of this important program that impacts the lives of young Jordanians while ensuring the safety of everyone.
The company noted that the final phase will include virtual group meetings to select the new students, who will be informed about their results via email. Applicants, who will not be selected, will receive free training from Cisco Training Academy in Python programming language.
The registration for the second batch of the coding academy was open from April 1st till the 26th. The first phase witnessed the participation of 7000 applicants, followed by a thorough review of applications to select more than 3100 for the e-learning phase that qualified them for the final stage.
The company asserted on the importance of the continuity of the program in transforming the concept of "training for employment" into a reality, adding that the second batch builds on the great success of the first batch where 70% of the students were employed even before completing their internships.
The academy offers an extensive 6-month training program in coding languages such as JavaScript, Php and Python, web development, mobile and computer apps, self-development skills, in addition to a one-month internship in a Jordanian ICT company.
Through the Coding Academy, Orange Jordan aims to train youth in line with international standards of coding, to help them win the best job opportunities in the kingdom and meet the growing demands for skilled programmers and technicians in various sectors, to enhance digital transformation process in Jordan.
