Interop Tokyo, Japan's largest ICT exhibition, awarded Huawei's OptiXtrans DC908 the Best of Show Award for its high density, Intelligent O&M, and simplicity after multiple rounds of strict selection, making it the only data center interconnect (DCI) product to win this honour.
With the rapid development of big data, cloud computing, and mobile Internet, the traffic between data centers is surging. An increasing number of enterprises opt to build their own data centers, making data centers a global hotspot for investment. However, traditional WDM products are complex in O&M and slow in service rollout. Therefore, DCI networks need to not only be fast, but also intelligent as well as simple to deploy, enabling agile services with minimum investment on networking.
With over 20 years of experience in the optics field, Huawei developed OptiXtrans DC908, an innovative DCI product for enterprise customers. It provides up to 88 Tbit/s capacity per fiber and 6.4 Tbit/s per rack unit (RU). The product also features high density, an optical-electrical integrated design, and AI-ready O&M. With this product, IT personnel can implement deployment in just eight minutes, without requiring dedicated WDM personnel. It also maximizes the value of optical fiber and minimizes the per-bit cost for enterprise customers.
Kim Jin, President of Huawei Enterprise Transmission and Access Network Domain, said, "As the only DCI product to receive this award at Interop Tokyo 2020, Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 has won the approval of the expert judging panel. Huawei will continue to increase strategic investment and R&D innovation in the optical field to create greater value for customers around the world and help them achieve business success."
Interop Tokyo is the most renowned network and computing event, as well as the largest and most influential ICT exhibition in Japan. The Best of Show Award is a heavyweight award for outstanding showcase products at Interop. The winner is the most innovative, technically leading, and commercially valuable product or solution selected from hundreds of candidates by a judging panel consisting of authoritative experts in the industry and university professors. As such, Interop awards are highly sought after by tech companies to improve their technical leadership.
