Vodafone NZ boosts 4G connectivity for rural customers

Vodafone New Zealand has activated additional 4G cell sites in rural areas of the country with effect from 26 March to enable more customers to stay connected during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The 15 new sites are located in twelve towns, including Whangarei, Whakatane, Opotiki, Wairoa and Central Hawkes Bay, and will help 1,159 rural residents access services as part of Vodafone’s involvement in the Rural Connectivity Group. The operator has also announced it is offering unlimited data to rural broadband users between midnight and 9am for no extra charge during the lockdown.
