Orange Jordan donated $100,000 to support the Ministry of Health in preventing the spread of coronavirus, stemming from the company's national role and responsibility towards the local community.
In a press release issued by the company, Orange Jordan said that the donation will be granted on two stages, 50,000 US dollars will be given directly to the Ministry of Health and 50,000 US dollars by donating the same amount donated by the company's employees and subscribers through the Orange Money e-wallet.
This challenging situation calls for solidarity and cooperation at all levels to overcome and contain the spread of the virus, added the company, noting that it has taken several steps to support the government and subscribers in this tough time
After Jordan's government declared a state of emergency to limit the spread of coronavirus, the company doubled internet capacity in all the hotels approved for quarantine, taken as a precautionary measure, where Wi-Fi services are provided by Orange Jordan.
To combat the difficulties of the current state, the company offered free browsing of MoE e-learning platform "Darsak affiliated to the Ministry of Education in cooperation with Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship to support students in receiving their lesson during the precautionary shutdown of schools.
Orange users can browse the platform, launched recently by the Ministry of Education, without any fees of deduction from balances, internet or mobile subscriptions.
The company also supported education by increasing internet capacity to private schools subscribing to Orange, to ensure efficient internet experiences on their sites and platforms.
Orange Jordan has provided solutions to facilitate access of people with disabilities to the free hotline "111" for medical inquiries and questions related to coronavirus, regardless of their networks.
People with hearing disabilities can call 770011516 through IMO application or visit the link announced on social media, both offering the Sign Book service. The translator will receive the call, then transfer the request to the hotline where doctors from Al Tibbi medical company in cooperation with Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship will provide the necessary advice and information. People with disabilities can contact the same number to reach the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for support in case of any other emergency.
